The CARE Collective team is entirely made up of volunteers.

Saravana Suthanthira (President, Board Member)
Saravana Suthantthira is the founder of CARE Collective for Aging and Environment and a dedicated community leader focused on senior well-being and sustainability. A first-generation immigrant raised by her grandparents, she brings a personal understanding of the emotional and social needs of older adults.

She has volunteered and served in leadership roles with community and cultural organizations, as well as in senior-support and sustainability initiatives. Motivated by the knowledge and belief that seniors’ wisdom and experience strengthen both community and environmental outcomes, Saravana founded CARE Collective to foster connection, purpose, and environmental stewardship.

Professionally, Saravana is a Civil Engineer and Transportation Planner with over two decades of experience working with state, county, and local agencies in Arizona and California, and she currently leads her own consulting practice.


Venkataraman Sriram (Secretary, Board Member)
Venkataraman Sriram is a community advocate who is passionate about uplifting underserved populations and fostering meaningful connections across generations. As a Secretary at CARE Collective for Aging and Environment, Sriram contributes time and energy toward initiatives that support older adults and promote sustainable, age-friendly communities. His commitment to service was inspired by Saravana Suthanthira and is rooted in a belief that strong, compassionate communities are built through consistent, hands-on action.

Sriram is currently a teaching volunteer with the California Tamil Academy, where he teaches Tamil language to young children. Through this role, Sriram helps preserve cultural heritage, strengthen language skills, and inspire the next generation to take pride in their identity.

Sriram is a proud Bay Area immunologist with about two decades of experience developing therapeutics against cancer and autoimmune diseases. Sriram is a biotech entrepreneur with a track record of building and scaling drug discovery organizations. He is currently a General Partner at Foundery Fund and an advisor helping other entrepreneurs and startups in the immunotherapeutics space.


Shanthi Kathiresan (Treasurer, Board Member)
Shanthi Kathiresan is a Special Education teacher dedicated to supporting diverse learners with compassion and expertise. She is deeply interested in helping seniors and advocating for environmental care, believing that strong communities thrive when people of all ages are supported and the environment is protected. Shanthi is committed to making a positive impact through education, service, and community engagement.


Sripriya Krishnamoorthy (Board Member)
Sripriya Krishnamoorthy is a Program Manager at a Technology services company.
She is passionate about sustainable living and practices and is mindful of environmental impact on future generations.

Working with CARE Collective, she would love to empower older adults through community programs, education, advocacy, and environmental initiatives that promote healthier lives and stronger communities.


Padma Prakash
Padma Prakash is a retired software engineer with a strong commitment to community service. She is dedicated to supporting meaningful initiatives and values contributing her time and expertise toward causes that create a positive and lasting impact.


Brindha Sengottaiyan
Brindha Sengottaiyan is a former software engineer committed to creating meaningful change in the community. She believes that serving seniors is not charity, but gratitude in action. Through her work with CARE Collective, she aspires to support, uplift, and honor senior citizens by fostering dignity, connection, and an improved quality of life for those who paved the way before us.


Suresh Srinivasan (Board Member)
Suresh is a retired software engineer focused on community service and volunteering. At CARE Collective, Suresh is committed to doing his bit in making the world a better place for senior citizens and to help seniors get excited about fostering a green environment.
